Sustainability

Wearing a dress today is becoming not only a matter of fashion but also a choice of responsibility.
Promoting environmental responsibility means investing in our present to live a better future. For this reason, Notus London swimsuits and bodysuits are made using special materials that respect nature.

In particular, the material Vita by Carvico, used for some models and colors of our swimwear, are made using ECONYL® regenerated nylon thread that transforms waste problems into solutions for fashion and interior design.

ECONYL®

All regenerated yarns by Aquafil are grouped under the ECONYL® brand. These yarns offer the same quality and performance as normal Nylon 6 but with incredible environmental benefits due to the fact that they come from regenerated waste and are 100% endlessly regenerable.

The ECONYL® regeneration system starts with rescuing waste otherwise polluting the Earth, like fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpet flooring and industrial plastic all over the world. That waste is then sorted and cleaned to recover all of the nylon possible.

Through a radical regeneration and purification process, the nylon waste is recycled right back to its original purity. That means ECONYL® regenerated nylon is exactly the same as fossil-based nylon.

Acquafil is partnered with Helthy Seas, founded in 2013 to tackle the ghost fishing phenomenon that is responsible for the needless death of marine animals. Founded in 1965, Aquafil is one of the main producers of nylon 6 in Italy and in the world. Aquafil Group is established in 7 countries and in 3 different continents, it employs more than 2.900 people working in 16 producing plants located in Italy, United Kingdom, Slovenia, Croatia, United States, Thailand and China. In 2011 Aquafil implemented ECONYL® Regeneration System, an innovative system that produces nylon 6 from pre and post-consumer waste.
